Lowell C. Jones Jr., 64, of Taneyville died Saturday, October 6, 2018 at his residence. Services will be private.

Lowell Claude Jones Jr. was born Friday, January, 29, 1954 in Springfield, MO to Lowell Claude and Frances Harriet (Brandwein) Jones. He was raised in Springfield and attended Parkview High School. He enlisted in the US Air Force in 1971 and was soon medically discharged. He immediately joined the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam as a military policeman. He was discharged in 1974 and moved back to Springfield. There he was employed in highway construction. He remained in construction until retiring in the early 1990's. In 1995 he met Jolene Braden in Forsyth. They have been together for twenty-three years.

Lowell liked hunting, fishing, gardening and loved being around animals and especially enjoyed raising pigeons. He also loved music, particularly Pink Floyd. Lowell was a very private person, ornery and rebellious at times but very protective of his sisters. He was of the Baptist Faith.

He is survived by his wife, Jolene of Taneyville; mother, Frances Jones of Springfield; two sons, Joshua Jones of Springfield and Ethan Jones of Fair Grove, MO; a daughter, Samantha Dueker and husband, Rick of Elkland, MO; sisters, Bethal Jeanette Brown and husband, Gail of Springfield, Jennifer Lynn Carson and husband, Richard of Springfield; mother-in law, Viola Holt of Protem; brother-in-law, Bill Holt of Joplin and four grandchildren, Wyatt, Landyn, Marshyl and Ashley Dueker.

He preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
