Charles E. Pagan, 82, of Taneyville died Wednesday January 24, 2018 in Forsyth. A
memorial service with military honors will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 3,
2018 in the Kissee-Schofield-Eakins Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Larry L. Kackley
Charles Edward Pagan was born Saturday, July 27, 1935 in Peoria, IL to August
David and Lorene Helen (Peterson) Pagan. He attended school in Chillicothe, IL and
graduated in the class of 1953. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine
Corps and served as a Communications Chief. and served two tours in Vietnam.
During his early years in the service, Charlie met Irene Williamson and they were
married in January of 1959 in Peoria, IL. While stationed at the Marine Corps Air
Ground Combat Center, Twenty-Nine Palms, CA. He retired with the rank of MSGT
in 1976. That same year he and Irene moved to Taneyville. Irene died in 2006.
Charlie was a straight-forward man that never 'cut to the chase.' He was a man of
honor and very proud of his military service. His hobbies included collecting
firearms, shooting, reloading ammunition, and reading western and war novels. He
was a member of the V.F.W and NRA. Charlie was always willing to help family and
He is survived by a son, Gerald "Jerry" Pagan and wife, Shannon of Forsyth and
many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Irene.
