Mr. Carroll D. McIntosh, 93, of Forsyth, MO died Sunday, June 24, 2018 at
his residence. A graveside service will be held at a later date in the
Evergreen Cemetery, Lineville, IA.
Carroll Dean McIntosh was born Tuesday, June 2, 1925 In Lineville, IA to
Robert and Nellie (Bryan) McIntosh. He attended school in Lineville and
graduated from Lineville High School. In 1943 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy
and served as a Signalman Third Class on board the USS Farragut (DDG-99)
during WWII and was honorably discharged in 1946. He was married to his
beautiful wife, Ethel Eileen Woods for seventy-one wonderful years.
Throughout his life, Carroll worked on a pipeline in Wisconsin, and then
moved to Wyoming where he worked at Solar Aircraft until its closure and
then with Boeing Aircraft in KC, MO. He worked on the Union Pacific Railroad
in Iowa. Carroll was also self employed as a barber and farmer for thirty
years in Iowa. He and Eileen retired to Forsyth in 2002.
Carroll was truly blessed to have a loving family and was the happiest when
he could spend time with them. He was fun loving, ornery, hardworking, and
had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed square dancing, boating,
refurbishing antique furniture and traveling in his Motor Home visiting family
and friends. He was a member of the Lineville United Methodist Church,
Shriners and was a City Council Member. Most of all, he was a loving
husband, father, grandfather and friend to all.
He is survived by his wife, Eileen McIntosh of Forsyth; one son, Jamie
McIntosh and wife, Ronda of Afton, IA; one daughter, Debra Woodley of
Forsyth; two brothers, Bill McIntosh and wife, Lorraine of Santa Barbara, CA
and Carmen McIntosh of Sulphur Springs, TX; one granddaughter, Misty
Woodley and wife, Nicol Phillips of Ozark, MO and one great-granddaughter,
He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Allie Leazer and Hazel
Bagby and two brothers, Wayne and J.T. McIntosh.
The family would especially like to thank Hospice Compassus for their
outstanding care and service to their family.
